As the natural hair community is rapidily growing, "meet up groups" are popping up all over the place and it's a beautiful thing! Natural Girls Rock just hosted our official "Holiday Party & Extravaganza" on November 19, 2011 in Atlanta, Georgia. There was an AMAZING turnout...great hair, food, vendors, live big chops, hair care advice, give aways, door prizes....We even shot our official "NGR Commercial" during this event!! (Can you feel the excitement??) It was so VERY awesome to see the comaraderie and watch everyone mix and mingle and have a good time!
We knew what our attendance numbers were however, we were pleasantly surprised to see quite a number of people came from as far as 5 hours away to attend the party! (Wowzers!) With that said, we are meeting the demand of the natural community and will be presenting even bigger and better "meet ups" and "luncheons" and "parties" for 2012 (in and out of Atlanta, Georgia)!!!......

3. What are some good ideas to keep the "meet ups" fresh and interestingn (aside from product exchanges)?

I am excited about NGR!! Never been to a meet up but would love to attend, I think we should stick to the natural hair industry because so many of us are interested in keeping our natural hair fresh and being educated on the best products for our hair. Would love to see this venue come to Birmingham , Al.
1. I would expect information, giveaways and fellowship. 2.Depends on the food-finger food $15-$20 a full lunch $20-$25 (make it as less expensive as possible). 3. Natural hair style demo’s could be an idea to keep the meet up fresh. 4. I would love for your team to come to Cincinnati,Ohio. I already emailed you so we can try and make it happen I’m patiently waiting for your response. :o)
I live in Jacksonville Florida by way of Atlanta. I unable to make the NGR event that you are hosting in Atlanta and I would love to attend one of your events. Are there any plans in the very near future to come to Jacksonville, or surrounding cities?
I will love for NGR to visit the Augusta Ga area…Always need the educational and more information.

Information on HOW TO use certain products maybe demonstrations. Vendors that sell hair products. It s one thing to have all the worlds in the world but it will not help you any if you do not know how to use them.
For the past 15 plus years I have been wearing my hair all natural, but has been combed up in one 99% percent of the time. I have been looking for products to tame my hair. Are there any out there that will help me to wear it out more often and yet keep it looking moist and stay in place?

It must be informative, educational and with takeaways. That is my goal. Always nice to have good bags but I have found that information is KEY.
